Indian Rummy rules
Deal & jokers
Two players, 13 cards each from two decks plus printed jokers. One card is flipped to set the wild-joker rank — every card of that rank, plus the printed jokers, is wild.
Your turn
Draw one card from the closed deck or the open discard pile, then discard one card.
Sequences & sets
Make sequences (3+ consecutive cards of one suit) and sets (3-4 cards of the same rank, different suits). Jokers can stand in for missing cards — except in a pure sequence.
Valid declaration
To win you must arrange ALL 13 cards into valid groups with at least TWO sequences, of which at least ONE is a pure sequence (no joker). Declare to end the round; the loser scores their ungrouped card points.
Strategy tips
- Make your pure sequence first — you can't win without one.
- Keep jokers for high-value sets, not the pure sequence.
- Discard high cards early to cut your points if you lose.
- Don't pick from the discard pile unless it really helps — it tells your opponent your hand.
