How to play Escoba
- Look at the table cards and your hand.
- Play a card that sums to 15 with table cards to capture them.
- Clear the table for an escoba bonus.
- Bank the most cards, coins and the 7 of coins.
- First to the target score wins.
Escoba rules
Deck & deal
2 players, a 40-card Spanish-style deck (A=1..7, J=8, Q=9, K=10). Each player gets cards in hand and several lie face-up on the table.
Capture to 15
Play a card; it captures any combination of table cards that, together with your card, sums to exactly 15.
Escoba
If your capture clears the whole table, you score an 'escoba' (+1).
Scoring
Points for most cards, most coins (diamonds), the 7 of coins, and each escoba. First to the target wins.
Strategy tips
- Track which cards make 15 with what's on the table.
- Hold a card that can sweep for an escoba.
- Deny your opponent easy 15s.
