Teen Patti Hand Rankings

Teen Patti (also called 3 Patti, Flash, or Flush) is India's most popular card game. Each player gets 3 cards, and the best hand wins. Here are all hands ranked from strongest to weakest.

1

Trail (Three of a Kind)

A A A — three Aces is the best

Three cards of the same rank. The highest possible hand. Three Aces beats three Kings, which beats three Queens, and so on. Three 2s is the lowest trail.

2

Pure Sequence (Straight Flush)

A K Q — all same suit

Three consecutive cards of the same suit. A-K-Q is the highest. A-2-3 is the lowest (Ace counts as low). Also called "pure run".

3

Sequence (Straight / Run)

K Q J — mixed suits

Three consecutive cards of mixed suits. Same ranking as pure sequence but without the suit match. A-K-Q is highest, A-2-3 is lowest.

4

Color (Flush)

A J 6 — all hearts

Three cards of the same suit, not in sequence. Compared by highest card, then second, then third.

5

Pair (Double)

A A K

Two cards of the same rank. Higher pair beats lower pair. If pairs are equal, the third card (kicker) decides.

6

High Card

A J 8 — no matches

When no other hand is made, the highest card plays. If highest cards are equal, compare the second, then the third.

Key Differences from Poker

  • Only 3 cards — no community cards, no drawing
  • Trail beats everything — equivalent to three-of-a-kind, but it's the #1 hand (in poker, it ranks 7th)
  • Sequence before Color — a straight beats a flush in Teen Patti (opposite of poker)
  • A-2-3 — this is the second-highest sequence (after A-K-Q), not the lowest like in poker
